Chapinero is my favorite neighborhood in Bogota, I would describe it as the typical traditional neighborhood in Bogotá that turned into the youth neighborhood, the LGBT friendly neighborhood.
Chapinero got its name because in XIX century there used to live the guy who made Chapines (a type of show made of wood).
These days, Chapinero offers a very interesting variety of Restaurants for every taste and budget, offers a variety of supermarkets and local stores where you will be able to get food and everything you may need. It also offer some vegetables and grains stores, butcheries, laundries and hair saloons.
